Q. Is your removalist a member of the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA)?
Ashtons Removals was a founding member and is still a current member of AFRA. AFRA is the association behind the removal industry. Members must lodge a security bond, comply with a Code of Conduct and have approved vehicles, office and storage facilities. You are protected in many ways if you move with an AFRA member.
Q. Ask if all of the removalists have had Police Checks.
All of Ashtons Removals’ staff have had Police Checks as it is an AFRA requirement.
Q. In-house inspections are essential for all except the smallest jobs. Has your removalist provided you with a free in-house inspection?
Why gamble on what the final price will be? In most instances Ashtons Removals will visit you to provide you with a written, fixed price, obligation-free quotation.
Q. Have you been provided with a written quotation that also shows the address and a landline telephone number of the company?
Ashtons Removals will provide you with a written quotation that clearly shows our address and office phone number and much more.
Q. How much experience does your removalist have?
Ashtons Removals were the first removalist on the Gold Coast and are celebrating over 65 years in business. Check out some of our old photos on our website.
Q. Where can you find independent reviews about removalists?
For independent reviews from people who have used our services, put “Ashtons Removals” into www.ProductReview.com.au, and compare our rating and reviews with our competitors.
Q. If you need storage, you must know where and how your goods will be stored. Also, can you check out these facilities?
Come and have a look at Ashtons Removals’ modular storage facilities – they are exceptional, and importantly, we are more cost-effective than most others.
Q. Insurance in transit is vital. Can the removalist arrange insurance in transit for you and what documentation will you be given to prove you are covered?
All of Ashtons Removals’ office staff are accredited representatives of our insurance providers, and we will provide you with a Financial Services Guide (FSG), Policy Wording and Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). You will also receive a personalised insurance certificate prior to your move.
Q. When moving interstate, will your goods be moved and stored in shipping containers and sent by the rail?
Ashtons Removals is part of a network who use large wooden boxes we call modules, to store and move your goods interstate by road. This way we have almost completely eliminated problems such as losses, damages and mould.
Q. Does the removalist have the expertise to move pianos, antiques, art collections or specialised items?
Ashtons Removals is your peace of mind when it comes to moving pianos, antiques, art collections or specialised items because this is one of our areas of expertise.
Q. Can your removalist prove that they have a history of taking care of their clients’ goods?
Ashtons Removals probably do more removals than anyone else on the Gold Coast but we can show you a copy of a report from our insurance brokers that states they have settled on our behalf, only seven insurance claims in the last eight years.
